Annalakshmi -Temple of Fine Arts

In Indian on June 10, 2011 at 10:42 pm

Annalakshmi – Temple of Fine Arts serves buffet style Indian food that is very popular with the locals and expatriates alike. It is also a common sight to see doctors and nurses in their uniforms having lunch here as there are 3 hospitals within walking distances from this place.

They have a rotating menu but their usual spread consists of at least two types of rice, three different curries, two vegetables and one dessert. Chapatis and drinks need to be ordered. This place is run by volunteers and payment is via donation.

  1. Hi there,

This was one of my most favourite dining experiences when in Penang. I like how the place is run – Not so commercialised as the Annalakshmi in Singapore – It has a nice homely feel to it.

Next time order a lassi with the meal, it acts as a perfect accompaniment to curry :).

    • Hey Luke,

Yea I read from your site there is an Annalakshimi in Singapore as well…I wonder what’s the one in Perth like. :)

This place is quiet and serene, a real hidden gem.

      Thanks for the tip! :D
